Sonic Deadhorse

Sonic Deadhorse is the primary alias of Taiwanese sound artist and experimental musician Cheng Ko-Chun. For nearly two decades, he has been crafting works that span noise, free improvisation, electronic sound design, and elements of contemporary dance music. His practice combines live sampling, algorithmic manipulation, and layered sonic environments, producing performances that are both austere and highly charged.

His live sets often embody a ritualistic and immersive quality, merging the raw energy of improvisation with the ecstatic drive of party culture and the radical openness of sonic experimentation. Beyond his solo work, he is also an active member of cross-disciplinary groups such as Non-Confined Space and Sam-seng-hiàn-gē, continuing to expand the possibilities of sound in contemporary culture.
